Back to School Night Introduction
Welcome Back to School!
Hello and welcome to the new school year!
My name is Susan Tentilucci and I am the certified school nurse for both Hillcrest Elementary and St. Andrew School. I am at Hillcrest on Tuesday through Thursday and a staff nurse covers the Hillcrest health office on Monday and Friday.
The role of the school nurse is to provide the bridge between health care and education. School nursing is a specialized practice that works to address the well-being, academic success, and health of our students. Keeping students healthy, safe, and in school ready to learn is our top priority. We manage acute and chronic conditions that affect our students and also tend to injuries that may happen during the school day.
Please feel free to communicate any medical needs that your child may have that could potentially affect their school day or the ability to access their education. School nurses also complete state mandated screenings and monitor immunization compliance. We work with the entire educational team to meet the needs of our students.
Per Pennsylvania state requirements, the health office requires immunizations, and a current physical and dental for all incoming students.
Physical exams are also required for all students entering 6th grade and dental exams are required for all students entering 3rd grade. I am happy to accept any exam completed during the prior year. These forms can be found on the district and Hillcrest health office website welcome page.
If your child requires medication during the school day, please print out a district Permission to Medicate form. This form needs to be completed by the doctor and signed by a parent. An adult must bring all medications to school. They must be in the original pharmacy container with the original label attached.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. The best means of communication currently is my email – stentilucci@crsd.org
For more information, please visit the health office website welcome page.
Thank you and wishing everyone a wonderful school year!
