Primary Services

The school counseling program is a combination of four types of primary services: curriculum, individual planning, responsive services, and system support. Below are listed the primary services offered by the Elementary Guidance Counselor :

• Implement effective classroom lessons focusing on relevant topics
• Provide small groups based on common reoccurring school-based needs
• Conduct individual sessions when students need explicit SEL instruction, based on school data
• Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents
• Coordinate appropriate referrals to outside services within the school and community
• Crisis intervention
• Team support
