Accessing Guidance

Are school counseling sessions with a school counselor the same as with an outside therapist?
No. School counselors meet with students on an individual basis when there is a crisis or when students require explicit instruction on skills, based on data during the school day. Outside therapists provide more intensive, individualized, and ongoing therapy.
